The company (NASDAQ: OPTR<\/a>) sold about 4.9 million shares of common stock at $11 a share. Jefferies & Co. was the sole book-running manager in the offering. Last month, Optimer said its fidaxomicin drug candidate passed its second pivotal test<\/a> against C.difficile bacterial infections, and that it plans to apply for FDA approval<\/a> of the drug in the second half of 2010.<\/p>\n
