However, this advancement meant that earlier storage systems such as floppy disks and VHS tapes were left to catch dust and later discarded inappropriately. <a href=\"http:\/\/www.nickgentry.co.uk\/\">Nick Gentry<\/a> is salvaging obsolete tech and converting them into modern pieces of art to prevent them from reaching the landfills.<\/p>\n<p><!--more--><\/p>\n<p><img data-recalc-dims=\"1\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/www.instablogsimages.com\/images\/2010\/02\/22\/nick-gentry_6_tzOHY_69.jpg?w=780\" alt=\"nick gentry_6\"\/><\/p>\n<p>The designer assembles obsolete storage systems including floppies and VHS tapes and converts them into a workable canvas for his portraits. The labels and shapes of the floppies peek through the paintings to give character to the faces he paints.
