Google’s latest acquisition: reMail, a startup that sells an iPhone app that downloads users’ e-mail to their phones, so that they can search it quickly. In a blog post, reMail founder Gabor Cselle says that the reMail iPhone app is being discontinued, although he doesn’t say what Google (NSDQ: GOOG) intends to do with his company’s technology; Cselle is joining Google as a Gmail product manager. Cselle had previously worked at Google as a software engineer and had also spent time as the VP of engineering at e-mail startup Xobni.

No word on how much Google is paying for the company. reMail was initially funded by YCombinator and also received an undisclosed amount of funding from FriendFeed co-founders (and Google veterans) Paul Buchheit and Sanjeev Singh.
