Decorator Killian O’Brien claims she’s “lucky to be alive” after she tumbled 17 feet down a hole in the old fire station — now owned by Anderson — last September. The fire pole had been removed, but the hole remained uncovered, contributing to O’Brien’ fall, the woman alleges in a suit obtained by The Associated Press this week.<\/p>\n
The Manhattan firehouse was built in 1906. The building once housed a unit of the Fire Patrol, a private firefighting organization backed by the insurance industry.<\/p>\n
O’Brien is also suing the developer of the building.<\/p>\n
