Classic Rock Magazine<\/a><\/em> cites inside source who tattle that Idol could be replacing Tyler as frontman of the band his performed with for more than 30 years.<\/p>\n

Sources say Idol was set to meet with Aerosmith’s Joe Perry last week, but fell ill with a cold that postponed discussions.<\/p>\n

An informant says: “Joe said he wanted to talk to Billy about joining Aerosmith, because the band were having problems with Steven. As far as I know Idol did not show up due to having a cold.”<\/em><\/p>\n

Perry recently admitted they have already talked to a number of singers about replacing Tyler — including Lenny Kravitz: “(There’s) a few people we’ve talked to, and we’ll see how it goes… As far as auditions go, we’ll probably just sit around and have a couple of drinks and see if we get along – because we’re already gonna know that they can sing.”<\/em><\/p>\n
