But the dominant force in the e-reader market \u2013 Amazon \u2013 is about to shake things up in a major way by announcing what amounts to an app store for Kindle.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<div class=\"posterous_quote_citation\">via <a href=\"http:\/\/mashable.com\/2010\/01\/21\/kindle-app-store\/\">mashable.com<\/a><\/div>\n<p>I love it when I see tech announcements like these that make you think of all of the potential a certain idea has.  I also love that Amazon is really sticking behind the Kindle, continuously improving the hardware and software.  Yes, the DRM is still worrisome, but in general I love the Kindle for making e-books more mainstream.
