{"id":423333,"date":"2022-12-14T00:59:30","date_gmt":"2022-12-14T05:59:30","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/mereja.com\/index\/?p=423333"},"modified":"2022-12-14T00:59:30","modified_gmt":"2022-12-14T05:59:30","slug":"ethiopia-general-inflation-rate-surges-to-35-1-percent-in-november","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/mereja.com\/index\/423333","title":{"rendered":"Ethiopia general inflation rate surges to 35.1 percent in November"},"content":{"rendered":"<p align=\"justify\"><span style=\"color: #222222;\"><span style=\"font-family: Liberation Serif, serif;\"><span style=\"font-size: medium;\"><b>Ethiopia general inflation rate surges to 35.1 percent in November<\/b><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p align=\"justify\"><span style=\"font-family: Liberation Serif, serif;\"><span style=\"font-size: medium;\"><span style=\"color: #222222;\">Ethiopia\u2019s <\/span><span style=\"color: #222222;\">general <\/span><span style=\"color: #222222;\">inflation rate <\/span><span style=\"color: #222222;\">surged<\/span><span style=\"color: #222222;\"> to 35.1 percent in November, according to data released by the <\/span><span style=\"color: #222222;\">governmental <\/span><span style=\"color: #222222;\">Ethiopian Statistics Service (ESS). <\/span><span style=\"color: #222222;\">This is the second straight month Ethiopia\u2019s general inflation rate has increased. <\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p align=\"justify\"><span style=\"font-family: Liberation Serif, serif;\"><span style=\"font-size: medium;\"><span style=\"color: #222222;\">Ethiopia recorded an inflation rate of 31.7 percent in October <\/span><span style=\"color: #222222;\">up from<\/span><span style=\"color: #222222;\"> 30.7 percent in September. <\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p align=\"justify\"><span style=\"font-family: Liberation Serif, serif;\"><span style=\"font-size: medium;\"><span style=\"color: #222222;\">The ESS disclosed that inflation for food items has jumped by more than three percentage points to 34.2 percent in November, compared to 30.6 percent in October.<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p align=\"justify\"><span style=\"font-family: Liberation Serif, serif;\"><span style=\"font-size: medium;\"><span style=\"color: #222222;\">The latest ESS data, also showed non-food inflation is on a continuously <\/span><span style=\"color: #222222;\">increasing<\/span><span style=\"color: #222222;\"> trend, reaching 36.5 percent in November, <\/span><span style=\"color: #222222;\">up from 33.4 percent in October. <\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p align=\"justify\"><span style=\"color: #222222;\"><span style=\"font-family: Liberation Serif, serif;\"><span style=\"font-size: medium;\">On a positive note, ESS said vegetables are showing a decline in prices.
