Aubry Buzek, U.S. Army, public domain)<\/em><\/p>\n<p>Besides the Ethiopian National Defense Force and the U.S. military, troops from Brazil, Burundi, Canada, Djibouti, France, Germany, Italy, Kenya, the Netherlands, Rwanda, Somalia, Uganda and the United Kingdom were taking part, according to a U.S. Embassy statement reported by New Business Ethiopia. United Nations offices, the African Union, USAID, the U.S. Institute of Peace and the International Committee of the Red Cross were also involved.<\/p>\n<p>Justified Accord 2019 combined a command headquarters exercise with company-level field training. It was designed to build the skills of staff and forces for peacekeeping in support of the African Union Mission in Somalia (AMISOM), and was to include headquarters staff training and land manoeuvres, ending with a platoon-level demonstration.<\/p>\n<p>The U.S. government said the exercise would put nearly $6 million directly into the Ethiopian economy.
