The law, which was passed by Ethiopia&#8217;s parliament last week, gives refugees the right to work, school and to travel.<\/p>\n<p>The UN High Commissioner for Refugees, Filippo Grandi, said Ethiopia&#8217;s new law is a model that other refugee-hosting nations should emulate.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;The passage of this historic law represents a significant milestone in Ethiopia&#8217;s long history of welcoming and hosting refugees from across the region for decades,&#8221; Grandi said in a statement released on Friday.<\/p>\n<p>There are over 900,000 refugees currently living in Ethiopia. These refugees are mostly from Somalia, South Sudan, Sudan, Eritrea, Yemen, and Syria.
