The deputy mayor of Addis Ababa, Takele Uma, said gas stations and petrol companies need to carry out their work with diligence.<\/p>\n<p>On Jan. 16, Takele said that some gas stations and petroleum companies have been hoarding fuel. He added that other illegal activities might be behind the recent fuel shortages. Officials in Addis Ababa warned that the government would take serious actions against illicit activities relating to fuel and gas.<\/p>\n<p>Addis Ababa has been experiencing fuel shortages. The shortage intensified after the road connecting Ethiopia and Djibouti was blocked by protesters this month.
