If this is true, then Isayas is the hero (perhaps not to Eritreans but a hero regardless) and Mesfin and co. were just cowards or Mesfin and Co., knew it all along, and they went with it since they had the same objective as well. Isayas did what he needed to do. He still is walking tall.

When the likes of wojo halay and Noble amhara start calling legit Eritreans who challenge the Eritrean gov, agame, there is something to it. Mesfin deserves the benefit of doubt just like Isayas does. Isayas has been in power for the life of independent Eritrea, that is 29 years with absolute dictatorial power. It is a one man show The country has been depopulated, and it is dirty poor. Young Eritreans have been forced to immigrate to the county their and brothers and sisters fought to get independence from. Isayas signed a secret agreement with Abbiy that is not disclosed yet. He said Ethiopia and Eritrea are one. Mesfin gets the benefit of the doubt too. It does not look good for Isayas. He needs to come out and explain all these derailing deeds his government committed and face the accusations. If not he is an Ethiopian hero and not a friend of the Eritrean people. The ball is on his court before Eritrea gets consumed in war after all the sacrifices made. BTW, I am convinced some of you who speak for the government know exactly what you are doing. If it is true, you are in it. The gullible ones, just examine the evidence. It is your people who are going to drain. It is your country that could be erased from the map of the world for the second time after all sacrifices. The person you think who is your best buddy, may not be after all.

This is not new considering Isayas long held plan.

In many high level meetings specially right after independence (1990 -1996) Isayas used drop ideas about confederation or regional corporations for Eritrea to develop just to test the reaction of the participants. And the filthy TPLF disrupted his gradual plans by triggering the 1998-2000 border war with the Eritrean People.

Again now he is using this same crafty gimmick "regional corporation for Eritrea to Develop".

He openly said in 1993/4 "Sky is the limit for Economical Integration and upto confederation with Ethiopia" when asked by an Ethiopian Journalists in Addis.

His track record of making Eritrea weaker economically, socially and politically is very clear. It all started in 1972/3.
Making Eritrea Weak:

By Depopulating Eritrea of Eritreans (driving out dynamic Eritrean youth, intellectuals, Eritrean entrepreneurs, Business men, technocrats)
By arresting and killing prominent Eritreans with leadership qualities.
By Destroying Institutions
By abolishing National Assembly
By abolishing the ratified constitution.

All these without offering any explanation to the Eritrean People.

The road to regional economic zone begins with strong domestic institutions, economy and politics. But Hasad Isayas does not want to see happening in Eritrea.

He never wants to see Eritrea that is strong Politically, Economically and Socially by Itself.

This facade showing Hasad Isayas saluting Our Martyrs and laying wreaths on Martyrs Cemetery for Eritrea's Independence is all a farce and travesty. Isayas does not believe in Liberated Eritrea by Eritreans.

I understand Isayas. I just don't get the support he gets from legit Eritreans. Some of his supporters told me that they rather see Eritrea lose its independence than Isayas out of power. To them he is God. Some of his supporters have lost four or five siblings to the war. It is like personal fetish. It is getting dimmer for the Eritrean people. Eritreans could be facing life time chain of dictators and a very bloody war in the future. The love, Eritreans had for each other, is questionable now. You don't sacrifice an immense struggle for one person's lust of power without consequences. God save the people of Eritrea. I am not even religious
