Both Hassan Sheik and Abiy Ahmed are useless. Neither Hassan nor Abiy are ruling a country. Abiy Ahmed governs less than 25% of Ethiopia. His Qeerroo regime is limited to Addis Ababa and its environs. Hassan Sheiki is just calling himself a president without a country - he is a crying baby on the lap of African Union. Somalia is a myth, not a country. Already at least three distinct independent countries have been formed.

However, the fact that Eritrea province got angrier about the Somaliland issue did a lot of harm to Eritrea province itself than doing any good. Some also may say, oh, if we leave, the country will disintegrate.

The best assumption is simply they are opportunists, using the system to stay in power and exploit the people. It does not matter which ethnics they come from. Most elites and those with money/wealth, don't care about their ethnic or atrocities committed as far as they peacefully continue to benefit from the system. Some of them, if they leave their post, they will be jobless, so they prefer to stay with their boss and exploit. They don't care for the poor.

I see, you're talking about individuals. I thought you were talking about large groups or sub ethnics of Amhara.

This type of opportunists devoid of convictions are sadly found everywhere in the world.
