It is an insult to the noble committee to suggest they take orders from Americans. No, they are independent souls. They awarded Obama at the outset of his presidency without being privy how he governs. Once they see an intention, which they valued a peaceful one, they want to encourage that political bent. When they awarded Abiy they were not totally sure how he will govern. But they saw signs that they appreciated. Making peace with Eritrea and his contribution to arbiter in Sudan's internal politics were significant achievements. He promised to bring democracy to the nation, and they hoped he will remain true to his promise. But both Obama and Abiy were awarded not necessarily for what they had done, but primarily for the potential what they are going to unravel.

Trump could say anything to carry him thru the day. It is a stretch to say that he was instrumental for the Prize award to be bestowed up on PM Abiy. However, the diplomatic support that USA gives to the new administration isn't something to be looked at lightly. Trump is mixing up the Nobel Prize with his role in having to observe the negotiation between Egypt and Ethiopia....which seems to be going nowhere.

What is funny is how Aboy Sebehat wonders how TPLF was chased out from Menilik Palace and found itself trapped in Axum Hotel..

if it is me this is the great ice breaking moment... for Dr.Abiy to make his move.. he can tell Trump listen i have on proposition for u.. American car is very expansive for African market but Africa one billion population want to buy American car.. so if the American car factory come to Ethiopia and start building an African made American car for all African market they can win over Chinese car because the price will be so cheap why because the American car factory will use robotic to make their car in aim of to produce much cheaper car ... not only African market but the Arab market would be open up for cheaper American car...

in fact this project must be proposed to all car maker in Western nation because Ethiopia have cheap electricity and man power and also land and water what more can an industry ask more then this ... once again this is the greatest speech that American leader give when he was in mode of running for election ................ now Egypt and Ethiopia have to keep the deal on they cant break it and upset Trump..
