Leave the choice for him whether he likes to talk in Chinese, Tigrinya, Oromiffa, amharic, Afaan Somali or esperanto, etc. Make your own choices for yourself rather than commanding others to make your choice as their choice. WHAT u r saying is like British saying if Zimbabwe, Uganda, Zambia, Botswana. Namibia, Kenya, Sierra Leone, Liberia, South Africa, and Nigeria complaining about British rule then the only heroic thing to do for them is stop talking in English..

even after 140 years in Kenya, the Kenyans have developed English as their own national language this doesnt mean invitation for British to colonized them.. the same way the USA MIGHT choice English as their language but that doesn't mean it is okay for British to colonized them.. the same with Jamaica too.

አቦ በቀለ ገርባ would have spoken English or any other language to communicate with Golden people but the Amhara domination stop this language development and replace it with Amharic .. for now we use it but next 20 or 30 years i dont think Amhric would be a dominate language it might be replaced by English no body know .. one thing is for sure Amahric is the most hated language in the world now

I am dying of laughter - you advised the ሰላቱ's to study and learn Amharic hard just like Anglophone African colonies do with English, yet you claim Amharic is the most hated language in the world. Well, guess what Amharic is even competing well with International languages of English, French & Spanish, for get Arabic it is now where close to Amharic. Amharic is becoming one competitive International language. Linguists will tell you there are a lot Latin languages should imitate from Amharic. It is very powerful linguistically for abstract interpretative and exploratory analysis just not physical or symbolic description many languages do.
