Student unrests in Ethiopian universities is organised by Egypt and Eritrea!

Post by Democrat » 10 Jun 2019, 07:45

The student unrests in Debre Birhan, Debre Tabor, Aksum etc are organised by Egypt and Eritrea. There are no political issues and ethnic conflicts among students. Any arguments do not usually lead to fighting.

These reminds us to the times of Haile Selassie, where university and high schools were targeted by Egypt and other Arab countries as centres of resistance to overthroow the regime.

There is no social issue the students need to worry about. Specially in towns like Aksum, there are no issues that could affect other ethnic groups. The killing of a student in a street in Aksum with coble stones was purposely done to provoke tribal wars between Amhara and Tigray. The student was killed by Eritreans living in Aksum ( according to some sources).

Ethiopian students need to focus on their studies and should not attack each other if any differences in views. The government should stop such unrest by sending more student speies trained to prevent such violent actions agains students. Clearly seminaries and discussions will be needed.

The government authorities in Addis Abeba and the regional government need to intervene actively by identifying those students who clearly are out to disturb the learning and teaching process. The universities should places of learning and research. Students whould have all liberies to have their opinion and should not be punished for having a different opinion. Students who agressive verbally or physically should not be alloed to stay at any university. They should be helped to change their behaviour through counselling etc.
