The Amharas ? perhaps, reorganization can bring better chemistry to East Africa. The amharas and Tigrayans have long history. This Welqait issue is just ridiculous. Whether Welqait becomes part of Tigray or Amhara, it does not matter for the people as long as their rights are respected as Ethiopians. Amhara + Tigray is the definition of Ethiopia the antiquity. Oromos have been prominent Ethiopians for the last 400 years. Their influence is seen as far away as Tigray and Gondar. Yet, to this day, they have challenged the Solomonic dynasty for centuries. Who do the Oromos compliment better between the Somalis vs. Amharas and Tigrayans. The competition/ enmity between Amharas and Tigrayans is just silly yet deadly.

Only Tigrayans exaggerate their importance, influence and role within Ethiopia. Any objective observed would not do so.
The truth is, Shawa-Oromo and Amara, along with the Wollo Oromo elites and others, are the backbone of the modern Ethiopian state. From protecting Menelik when he was being pursued by tewodros & lacked an army at the time, to the oromo generals who led his army, to the oromo who made the italians drop their weapons and run faster than scooby doo and shaggy; the Oromo role can not be under-valued, unless you happen to be blinded by hate for the Oromo, like you and others on here are.
