The US wants Ethiopia to become the police man on the beat in the Horn region, a dirty job that is often described using the glamorous term "anchor state", -- meaning the Ethiopian army will serve the interest of global powers in the region, in a manner similar to how during the slavery days the House Negroes were keeping the field Negroes in check. Ethiopia needs a new foreign minister.

VOA Exclusive: US AFRICOM Commander Says Russian Mercenaries in Mali

VOA: One quick question, last one on the Horn of Africa. Ethiopia, the U.N. has been warning for months about the intensifying conflict and they were concerned that this could you know if it gets to full blown civil war, it could threaten the entire stability of the Horn of Africa. Do you share those concerns? What do you see as concerns?

U.S. AFRICOM COMMANDER GEN. STEPHEN TOWNSEND: Yes, I do share those concerns with regards to Ethiopia. So Ethiopia has been, you know they're the second-largest country in Africa. They've been a powerhouse economically and security wise in East Africa for decades. And they're there what America has referred to as anchor state. However, the civil war has turned their focus inward, this war between the government and the Tigrayans. … They’re not an anchor state right now because they can't because their turned inward, so I think we very much want to see the Ethiopians work through these disagreements and come to a peaceful resolution. The situation has stabilized there over the last few weeks and has calmed a bit, a significant bit from what it was right before Christmas. So, yeah, we're worried about Ethiopia. Ethiopia is very important to the stability of the entire Horn of Africa, so we want to see Ethiopia work through this problem in a peaceful way.

  • That is not possible. The American 'war on terror ' business is finished. Ethiopia can not invade Sudan,Eritrea,Somalia,Djibouti,South Sudan and kenya to fight " terrorism ". Terror is at home and it has a Tigrayan face.

The face of the American ambassador Gheeta says that America(Susan Rice/Nazinighgher)) failed it its attempt to restore the Woyane minority rule over Ethiopia and is trying other means like ethnic politics to control the country.

"US Eager to Fully Restore Its Strategic Partnership with Ethiopia" - Ohh, Really !!

Reminder: Aby was told by Feltaman, the United States of America envoy to the Horn of Africa, to pack his stuff and flee the country with his family.

Feltman's plan, which is US State Department's plan, was for Regime Change in Ethiopia, and to bring back TPLF to power with a smokescreen of power sharing with the Oromos and other nationalities.

And It is also true that the US and the West (EU) that had tried many times to punish Ethiopia through the UN Security Council Meeting.

Mainly it is China and Russia, the two permanent members of the UN Security Council, which consistently objected the US and EU sinister plans to punish Ethiopia.

Now this from the Ethiopian Ministry of Foreign Affairs. Wow !!!

We are witnessing prostitution unfolding.

Please stop closing you little dim eyes and then spiting out foolish and senseless cheap propaganda of no practical value. If you have the brain you will know that nations and governments are interdependent simply because they share the same planet as well as what the planet offers even if interests can be in conflict every now and then.

The main purpose of nations and governments needs to be the promotion of peaceful coexistence while constantly adjusting partisan interests and individual needs so that we may have equality and justice for all.

Being too much noisy non stop, combative and asking for fist fighting can be self defeating to say the least. I am saying this because I am not a politician and have nothing to hide in terms of making my nice comments.

If you think that alliances and realignments of powers and forces in international relations from time immemorial to the present days amounts to some sort of prostitution then it means that your stupidity is unfolding and gone live instead of any prostitution in which case you need to reinstall your brain's yellow software and refresh it as soon as possible so that you may see the realities and the long standing practices of international relations functioning at its best and like a Charm.

Fiyameta, Ethiopia was not and cannot be a police man of the Horn. The only exception was in Somalia but it seems Abiy has now corrected it so that our military engagement in Somalia is through consultation with the Somali government. Other than that I don't think Ethiopia can and will play a police men as we all know all of HOA countries are sovereign countries and not satellites of Ethiopia.

Sabur, what you are saying is relevant in personal relationships but not when dealing with foreign relations. In foreign relations what is important is what is good for the interest of your country. Yes, the Americans wanted PM to go but they have now released it is impossible and they have to deal with the Abiy government if they want any influence in the region. Does it mean they love Abiy now, of course not. They will always deal with the strong man weather it is TPLF or Abiy. That is how the world works.

For now they have no other choice but to deal with Abiy and Abiy is doing good not to look back and lament how they wanted him to go but work with the US and the west for the interest of the country. It is not about him after all but about the country and it was a wise decision to engage them constructively as it will benefit the country.

Prostitution or not, it is about benefiting your country and advancing the country's interest. That is foreign relations all about.

Temari:

First Securing the safety and protection of your own people, the Afar and Amhara, from the heavy attacks, bombardment and destruction by the adventurous Terrorist TPLF Junta you want to make peace with is not in the Country's Interest ?

Unless you are telling readers the defenseless but courageous Afari people are given as Sacrificial Lamb in the altar of Destruction for the Peace process with the Terrorist TPLF Junta to proceed.

Or Is it to let the Terrorist TPLF relieve their grievance of defeat by taking out their revenge against the Afar People who fiercely fought to secure the Ethiopia's Life Line - Djibouti and Addis Line ?

Latest suffering of the Afari People by the Terrorist TPLF Junta.

Give readers a break about personal or foreign relations.
