No doubt Ethiopia and Eritrea will go to war and the latest interview confirms that the relationship has ended and now they're enemies and it makes sense given we haven't seen Isaias in Addis Ababa and Abiy in Asmara for a quite while. The good news here is that Isaias is an old man and will likely die in the next 10 years and only person he trusts is his son Abraham. Abiy in this case will be more experienced while Abraham will have to fill his father's shoes but the opposition and agames will take advantage of Isaias' eventual death.
What shall Abiy do then?
A. Work with TPLF to get revenge on Eritreans and in that process Ethiopia captures Assab.
B. Arm Afaris and give them a referendum to join Ethiopia.
Right now Dr. Abiy Ahmed must get rid of all Eritrean spies from Ethiopia and take back all border areas from Eritrean armed forces. Dr. Abiy Ahmed must start building a strong Ethiopian army by upgrading the airforce and ground forces.
We need a capable and professional 450,000 armed forces.
