When one sees the graph above which shows the amount of US food aid pumped into Ethiopia had dramatically increased to an alarming level during the last 30 years — a period when the "11% economic growth" propaganda was drummed up ad nauseam by none other than the aid agencies themselves to desensitize the Ethiopian public to the obvious erosion of their sanctity of life and human dignity despite having been abundantly blessed with natural resources— it begs the question of whether sacrificing our dignity, morality, self-respect, self-worth and sovereignty on the altar of childlike dependency was worth enduring the shame and humiliation associated with aid dependency, whose serious side effects consists of the imposition of a ተላላኪ መንግስት.
