In 1884, the United Kingdom, the United States, France, Belgium, Portugal, Russia and a handful of other European countries convened the Berlin Conference with the intention of slicing and dicing the continent that was rebranded to “Africa” into their personal fiefdoms. Within short order, these imperialist nations unleashed hell upon tens of millions of “Africans” in order to subdue the populace and control their natural resources.
The only country that was able to repel the malevolence of colonizers was Ethiopia; against the odds, the cradle of humanity and the birthplace of Christianity defeated Italians at the Battle of Adwa and sent fascists back north where they belonged. They came bellowing veni, vidi, vici only to be met with the audacity of Ethiopian jegnas (warriors) who said embi (no) to foreign occupation.
