Nobody wants, a strong and United Horn. That strait is responsible, for a significant portion of global trade. The EU, US, Egypt, Israel, Middle East all have something to gain from a weak Horn.

Oil and gas, agriculture, strategic location for sea trade, fresh water reserves, ample tourism opportunity, air freight hub, mineral wealth, fishing rights and overall gateway to Africa.

They know it, and they won’t let up easily. The odds are stacked against us. Think about it; perpetually sanctioned Eritrea, Ethiopia on wheat and oil handouts, forever at war Somalia. That was by design.

This video, explains it all:

Zmeselo,
while what has been posted by Beniam - the Western powers' skewed view of the Horn rapprochement movement - is sadly 100% correct, part of the blame must also be borne by us, the people, and governments of the Horn region. In my view, the issue boils down to what kind of stubborn ego is it that keeps us slandering at and attacking each other, which clearly hinders us from cooperating and working together for the common good of all of our peoples?
While the reason(s) for such untenable behavior may be as diversified as the people, some traits could be identified as the certain culprit of the situation we find ourselves in - a situation that no one could envy.
To begin with, as Tesfaye ወልደየሱስ stated, the political independence, national sovereignty, and territorial integrity of each and every country in the region must be respected. In other words, no irredentist or wishful desires of encroachment against any sovereign entity must be entertained by any and all the countries in the region.
Any relationship a member country might enter with a foreign power must not be at the expense of a member state. Ideally, such a relationship should be entered by a common authority of the member states as opposed to one that is entered individually.
The member states must enter into an agreement of mutual security and defense pact with a clearly stated statement of purpose "an attack on one of the member states is considered an attack on all the member states" or something to that effect.
All member states must have equal power with each other with no "Veto" wielding power amongst them.
All member states agree that the wellbeing of its citizens would take precedent over anything else unless enacted, in some emergency situations, where all the member states see it as necessary and unavoidable.
etc. etc

I concur 100%, brother.

Part of it can have to do with some of us being sellouts, & used for the purpose of divide & rule. Infact, their biggest sellout puppet regime of the region has just been toppled & what you outlined might take a bit of time to crystallize & materialize. I hope with time, your rational view will gain ground in the region.
