This is one of those low hanging fruits that will benefit the young King Abiy hugely politically speaking, even if the volume of the materials imported/exported through Asseb will be small for the first year or so... the symbolism will be Huge ...
I want Trump to win the election in the USA, but flew to south Florida on vacation last week and driving around surprised me to see a lot of Biden signs and losing Florida is losing the presidency for Trump, this was vacation originally planned to be at the Eritrean Red Sea but cancelled due to Corona... having said that Abiy and Issu should open the Bure border soon, if Biden is to win... opening the Burre border will send strong message to the incoming new administration that Eritrea & Ethiopia are at peace and the new reality at the ground will force the democrats to come to their senses and abandon their failed horn African policy of Obama...

You don’t make sense, in your twisted way of thinking with what you said would mean Ethiopia “soft control” Djibouti. Eritrea and Ethiopia are two sovereign countries no soft or hard control needed that has been tried the last 50 years and failed miserably.
