So much of a "founding father" and Lost opportunity

Post by Deqi-Arawit » 21 May 2020, 10:58

After the independence of Eritrea in 1991, Eritreans pampered and spoiled the dictator, first by labeling him as the George Washington of Eritrea, and then abbreviate his title and name like (PIA) which stands for President Isaias Afwerki and last but not least by labelling him the founding father of Eritrea  . Except the abbreviation of his title ('PIA), to label the dictator as the George Washington of Eritrea or founding of the country is a preposterous claim and insult to all the founding fathers of each and every country. Lets be frank, when Eritreans started to shower the dictator with adjectives, we were merely mimicking the Americans with out having a proper thought. Americans call their two famous presidents FDR which stands for Franklin Delano Roosevelt and JFK which stands for John Fitzgerald Kennedy, Two great American presidents, at least FDR who was so great that he won four presidential elections.

The village idiot, George Washington and the founding father label.

a founding father is a uniting force or a person or group of people who lay foundation to the establishment of a nation state and whose impact and influence transcend generations in a positive way. Plus, a group of people or an individual who can function as a bridge or link between the old and the new and enabling smooth transformation. For instance, Otto von Bismarck is rightly called as the founding father of Modern Germany because he united all members of the German confederations except Austria under one banner and as the first leader in the entire world to create a welfare state. Likewise, Garibaldi Giuseppe and Victor Emmanuel the second among others are regarded as the founding fathers of modern Italy because just like in the German cases, they united all Italian kingdoms under one banner. Muhammad Ali jinnah, Abdel Kadir Keberes idol is regarded as Pakistan*s founding father because he advocated and succeeded to establish a muslim country for muslims. The lists can go on and on. Can we see any correlation between the village idiot and those individuals who are rightly called founding fathers of their respective countries ? I don't think so. Furthermore, Americans always refer to their founding fathers in matters which is related to their constitution, power sharing procedure, chain of command , you name it? Can Eritreans refer to the village idiot in any matter after his demise? except of course how to torture people and mess up things and looking for scapegoat with out taking any responsibility or accountablity ? I don't think so.

lost opportunity

American presidential election is approaching fast. The election of president Trump to the White House in 2016 and the his foreign policy of America first was God send gift to Eritrea . President Trump cared less to intervene or Micro manage third world countries affair let alone to dictate what they should do or not do, and this is where the village idiot lost his opportunity to exploit and take advantage of the situation and try to restore the break down of the diplomatic relationship between Eritrea and America. Instead, the village idiot preferred backdoor or indirect diplomacy with America by dealing with American Arab vassals.

With the American economy in shambles, high unemployment because of the Corona virus pandemic, not to mention strong liberal Media, the chances for reelection of Trump is not certain as it was in pre cover-19 pandemic. And With the prospect of Joe Biden in the White House and Susan Rice or any other person as his VP, Wedi Medhin Berad and his anuxxus lickers will find a real and legit reason to moan and whine like a Bi!2itch.

I hope they are working on it, Donald Trump is one of a kind, who has no desire to policing the shitt hole countries and has no interest at all on global politics, specially to the third world countries.

Deqi,

The definition of founding father for me is George Washington. George Washington made himself a one term president to give America the basis of power sharing in which the President of the United States , Congress, and judiciary share powers reserved to the national government, and the federal government shares sovereignty with the state governments. It is about sharing power, The likes of Jefferson and Madison were the architects, and Wahsington was their leading cheer leader. Not to belittle the others but, George was the man.

Try the Prussian statesman otto von bismarck and you will know the true definition of a founding father!

This is direct quote of the man.
The secret of politics? Make a good treaty with Russia
Never fight with the Russians. on your every stratagem, they answer unpredictable stupidity

Now just imagine, If the stupid hitler listened to this statesman ? Germany could have ruled western Europe unchallenged and this man predicated the capability of Russia 30 years before the ignition of the second world war.

and Wedi Medhin Berad? Who are the allies of the dictator in UN the security council ?

Young politician

In 1847 Bismarck, aged thirty-two, was chosen as a representative to the newly created Prussian legislature, the Vereinigter Landtag. There, he gained a reputation as a royalist and reactionary politician with a gift for stinging rhetoric; he openly advocated the idea that the monarch had a divine right to rule. His selection was arranged by the Gerlach brothers, fellow Pietist Lutherans whose ultra-conservative faction was known as the "Kreuzzeitung" after their newspaper, the Neue Preußische Zeitung, which was so nicknamed because it featured an Iron Cross on its cover.[1
Bismarck's most important legacy is the unification of Germany. Germany had existed as a collection of hundreds of separate principalities and Free Cities since the formation of the Holy Roman Empire. Over the centuries various rulers had tried to unify the German states without success until Bismarck. Largely as a result of Bismarck's efforts, the various German kingdoms were united into a single country.

Following unification, Germany became one of the most powerful nations in Europe. Bismarck's astute, cautious, and pragmatic foreign policies allowed Germany to peacefully retain the powerful position into which he had brought it, while maintaining amiable diplomacy with almost all European nations. France was the main exception because of the Franco–Prussian War and Bismarck's harsh subsequent policies
Deqi, he was good but he does not compare to George who lived way before him and built the stongest democratic nation in the world. Garibaldi was a lot like Bismarck.

Hitler was a psychopath. He hated humanity and his very own Jewish ancestry. He could have won the war very easily. But, he had to do it his own way. His followers were at fault Not him. He was sick.

Democracy is overrated. you need to fulfill some criteria to practice democracy in western sense. Democracy is not for every one in particular not for the low IQ africans or tribal nomadic arabs. and I say this with all sincerity.

Deqi,
Your reasoning is self-deafiting. Without democracy you only have theocracy and dictatorship as a choice. Both lead to horrible results.
Democracy keeps the rights of every stake holder. No matter who. That is the very idea at the core.

South Korea achieved its economic miracle with out practicing democracy. Even communist china achieved its potential with out practicing democracy. Ghana is a democratic country and what has achieved after its independence? Democracy only works for non tribal, no clannish [hom@gene@us] society who share history and destiny.

Deqi,

South Korea and Singapore had strong governments. South Korea is the poster boy of working democracy., so is Singapore, not perfeect but good enough. China under Mao failed over and over again. Once it began to liberate state obligartchy, its economy exploded. But, remember, China is the longest running super power in the world. The western civilization is very recent. Marco Polo and Columbus were trying to reach China back in the days. Now, unless the communist party in China behaves, China is doomed. The communist party is like the God Fathers of the Italian mobs of the past. The fact is Sars-2 and many others deadly viruses are originating in that country, Suspicion is raging. Communist party always has to win  We will see. Nothing comes good out of dictatorship and anarchy.

I presume You agree with me that democracy doesn't work for every one? China,Singapore,Taiwan, Macau are inhabited by Han Chinese who are h@mogene@us people and share unbroken history of more than 5000 years. The same can be said about Koreans and Japanese (non tribal, non clannish h@mogene@us people). Democracy works with these people because they have the same heart beat, the same history and destiny.

In Africa and the Middle East on which clan or tribe affiliation is stronger than citizenship affiliation, there is constant mistrust among the people and the foundation to build a strong state is not there to have your democracy.

I agree with deqi democracy is not for the horn of Africa and Africans. Democracy is for western Europeans even for the Arabs the democracy becomes toxic. Democracy will not bring economic prosperity. You need honest politicians and strong institutions that can hold.

Deqi,

it has nothing to do where the population is h-om-ogeneous or heterogeneous. The few do not have any right to decide for the rest  . You have to develop the grass roots. You have to hold elections over and over up until people vote based on interest rather than affinity. But, that takes time. We are wasting so much time. our electoral process would have be honed by now. Nothing comes free. It takes time. The population in Eritrea is not as bad as you think. Eritreans will catch it up like baptism by fire and make Eritrea the next African Norway or Denmark within a few years

Deqi,

You live in Europe, don't you ? How about the good old USA. Deqi, democracy is the only way to deal with clannish activity through the grass roots. You have to give voice to the public. If you deny people the voice you have Bandustani :P :P :P You want to replace a dictatorship with another dictatorship. I don't get it. As they say, power corrupts. If you were to replace Isayas yourself, I am not sure you would be a good replacement. Power will corrupt you. You have democracy, theocracy or dictatorship. Period. To tell you the truth, unless the system in Eritrea is replaced with democratic change, then it is futile. Change of faces is a waste of time. The blood of our martyrs guarantees democratic change. I can't believe you are against democracy. Most of the world has some form of democratic setup, but I want pure one that works and serve the people as it was planned.

That's impossible because sereye wil not vote for akele. And akele will not vote for hamasien. And beja will only vote for beja etc. You will get clan parties its impossible a patriotic dictatorship is much and much better. Also Hitler wasn't bad he had a good vision. But he miscalculated only which led to his fall. Hitler showed the strength of the germanic people. Today Germany is number one in the European Union.
