Pol Pot and Cambodia - what went wrong?

Post by EthioRedSea » 24 Mar 2020, 19:54

Cambodia's leader Pol Pot killed 2 million cambodians. His aim was to clean Cambodia from elites who were corrupt and did not stand for the interest of the people and Cambodia. Like Stalin, Pol Pot was on the side of the farmers and workers of Cambodia. He created labour camps where many western educated elites were interned and indoctrinated.

Unfortunately, Pol Pot did not succeed to create a new political elite that stood for the people of Cambodia in Contrast Mao Tsetung and Joseph Stalin, who transformed their countries to be leading nations in the world.

Pol Pot was able to separate the good from the evil and ended up killing every one that opposed him. The cause of Cambodia was forgotten.
