Awash/ANTICO's strategy to make the Oromo and Amhara people very afraid by telling them that Eritreans have joined our Abay Tigray Republic's army is working.

Weyane does not have the power to entangle a foreign citizen in its armed forces. Only the federal government can give or take away citizenship. It is illegal. Weyane could be declared as illegal entity by the federal government. Which most likely is going to happen very soon. I think they have been trying to arm the opposition but failed to do so. It is rumored in Tigray and southern Eritrea that in the recently held meeting of the Central Committee of TPLF, the front has decided to allow the Armed Forces of Tigray should be open to any person with Tigrigna heritage. This is a major departure from the front’s firm stand, that these are two people but since the recent declaration of peace by the two countries, there is a strong undercurrent movement in Eritrea and Tigrai to unite the two people as one under one flag.

TPLF has now a firm stand that any Tigrigna speaking Eritrean by right of birth and heritage should be allowed to serve in any capacity in the armed forces or the civilian life in the now defacto state of Tigrai.

The recent rush to dismantle the Eritrean community in Tigray by Dr. Abiy and PIA is believed to be a reaction to this new development and decision made by TPLF. It is believed that there are more than 100, 000 young Eritreans in Tigrai and the decision to allow the Eritreans to join the armed forces was discussed with known activists and community leaders that are tirelessly working to bring about the unity of these two people.

You are right, I don’t think Abiy will allow them to integrate “foreigners” into the National army of Ethiopia. But I believe what the powers in TPLF are saying is, anyone with Tigrigna heritage, has the right to join the Tigray army. This doesn’t mean they are part of the Ethiopian army.
Nevertheless this is a dangerous precedence that needs to be addressed.

Tigray is part of Ethiopia. A member of the Tigrayan army is a member of the Ethiopian army by default. If weyanes dare to do so, they become anarchists/renegades by definition. Why don’t woyane invade Eritrea today? What is the hold up. Eritrea is weak and helpless, the whole world hates them.

You are giving yourself away Badme is Eritrean. Abby has accepted it. Ethiopia has recognized it. TPLF has no business in Badme. It is trespassing. The main issue is between the federal government and TPLF. TPLF is challenging the supremacy of the federal government over federal matters such as foreign affairs. EPLF will not occupy Tigray. Don't worry about that. But, Eritrea can fight for its own land. Badme. Out of respect for Ethiopia, Eritrea is pleading with Abby. Abby promised to respond accordingly. Actually, he has been doing that. TPLF is all about anarchy. Ethiopia can not afford that. Ethiopia is already fragile without that. TPLF has to go. Eritrea may be asked to help. That is how far it goes.

Aurorae, saying Abiy will side with his fellow Ethiopians if war erupts makes me Un-Eritrean. There is no war that ends as planned. As you say, if he forces them to leave Badime, that is the best case scenario for Eritrea. But for TPLF and the Tigrai people at this time, it is more than Badime. It has passed that point and it is a matter of existential threat for TPLF and to a certain extent to the people of Tigrai as well.
If the war ends after Eritrea takes back Badime, then that would be a dream come true. But PIA and Abiy know it well and that is why it has not happened yet.
