Re: Arguments for and against ethnic federalism
I took my time and listened to the first part. It shows me that the level of discussion on issues of common interest is getting more matured, which is good for the country and its people at the end of the day.
The participants tried to be respectful to the others in the discussion and tried to be on a par with their discussion counterparts.
Well done!

Re: Arguments for and against ethnic federalism
1991 constitution reversed the above through the blood of martyrs! What should be of discussion is the migration of political power and offices away from the empire's vasasal center to the periphery and nothing more!Ethiopian Constitution of 1931
Chapter I
The Ethiopian Empire and the Succession to the Throne
Art. 1. The territory of Ethiopia, in its entirety, is, from one end to the other, subject to the government of His Majesty the Emperor. All the natives of Ethiopia, subjects of the empire, form together the Ethiopian Empire.

Lowlanderu,
The voice that says "the constitution need to be changed" has gained momentum and it is an undeniable fact that it will eventually be shredded. There is a strong resistance from Oromo diaspora activists and OLF elites in PP but they will eventually give-in. I am sure you follow herman cohen or Martin Plaut, both TPLF advocates who reflected that momentum recently.

Re: Arguments for and against ethnic federalism
Interesting discussion. Whenever there is a civil, open political discourse and discussions among Ethiopian elites and activists regarding Ethiopia's past and present political history, the Worebela shifta who thinks her/himself Zere Mekuanent, a super and a guardian of Ethiopia and Ethiopianism would be left naked and without words to make her/his point. Because she/he is blindfolded to see about Ethiopia in her/his mind is a country that always been the agonized creation of Menilik II of the Shoa a century and a half ago.
The struggle for the past fifty years is how to remove this nation from the fragile support it was built on and is to rebuild it on a more solid foundation that upheld democratic and pluralistic ideals.
But With all disappointment thus far, it is promising though to see an excellent discussion and the flow of Ideas such as this one by the young generation. It really deserved to be watched and listened to by all Ethiopians.

Re: Arguments for and against ethnic federalism
There is no 'against' argument!Inbreed politics is a way of life as everything else is in ethiopia. Even addis, occupations are segmented by certain group of inbreeds. 'against' argument is dead and needs to be violently pushed into accademia. In its placw should a 'for' hybrids politics within the regions.

Re: Arguments for and against ethnic federalism
The country does not have to waste time discussing about ethnic federation. It is time to action dissolving this so called ethnic federation or ክልል. One must be mentally sick to glorify its importance . There is NOTHING good about it - it is an out of nature thing. Simply the same mentally challenged people like Ezikeal Gabissa or some other TPLF/OLF house maids talked over and over about it does not mean it is a relevant issue. Their paralysis in thinking has shown us more than enough how paralysis ethnic federation or ክልል is. It is to take action against it , not to time for talk, gossip and chatting.
