Words do matter!

Post by DefendTheTruth » 12 Dec 2024, 05:39

Let's just look at the words used by the parties, including that of the mediator, in addressing the press and other dignitaries, and judge for yourself if they reflect the position so far held by Ethiopia or Somalia. It can give you an understanding of what has been transpired in Türkiye and the just concluded joint declaration. Mind you this is only a declaration so far, on which basis the detailed implementation will be formulated in the future.

Who has conceded?

What is Ethiopia's demand? Clear and simple: access to the sea (ደኅንነቱ የተረጋገጠ፣ አስተማማኝ የባሕር በር), which is unimpeded and integrated economic development of the whole region, to make it sustainable and beneficial for all. This were used by the President of Somalia perhaps in almost a year political jargon round trips to many places around the world and the region.

The word used by the Ethiopian side on this regard is that "Ethiopia's demand must be met" (else unacceptable to Ethiopia), to which all the three parties have consented in so far.

In that case Ethiopia can say it is all about "ዬትም ፊጪዉ፣ ዱቄቱን አምጪዉ!" and lean back and watch while things get sorted out.

Who is the biggest loser in all of the show? Isayas Afeworki, as usual.

Did anyone pay attention to this message?

I don't think so, I can now become more bold and state that there must have been something for Ethiopia guarantying her of future promises of her long held wish of having "unfettered access to the sea". If this was not the case, then Ethiopia wouldn't even engaged herself for a mere talk with the partners travelling as far as Ankara, taking part in the talks up until beyond mid-night.

Erdogan could be a man whose name will be boldly remembered in the history of many generations of Ethiopians to come. It is a rewarding investment for him! The rising star of HoA region, economically, demographically and now also more and more politically! I am the one in this forum who coined the expression "Ethiopia Rising" and if you doubted so far, then you are simply out of touch.

Every other option is unviable, Ethiopia has been clear about that.

Look at the axis that is going to develop in the region, starting in Türkiye, over UAE, ETHIOPIA, Somalia and Sudan now. Who is left out from the mix? You guessed correct the old man and his boss in Cairo!

That is why they are mourning about the Ankara declaration, even if it is not directly about them. Their axis of evil has been circumvented successfully!

Progress to the HoA, where Isayas is no more in the mix! It is upto the forward looking new Eritrean generations to remove the obstacle of their progress and become a full member of the new family of nations poised to bring prosperity to our region!
