Ascaris were traitors; was chopping their hands justified?

Post by Selam/ » 30 Apr 2024, 06:10

After the Battle of Adwa ended in the defeast of the Italians, 800 Eritrean askari, captured by Emperor Menelik’s forces and regarded as traitors, had their right hands and left feet amputated.

“….Emperor Menelik II was against the practice of mutilation. Nonetheless, significant figures around him, including his wife Taitu, the Abune, and Tigrayan leader Ras Mengesha Yohannes, son of Emperor Yohannes IV, advocated for this severe punishment…”

Selam z Agame,

What is the matter with you Agames? They are warning your people to be careful during Easter because the thieves are out in force. Shouldn't it be the other way, for the thieves to take a break and give their victims a break during the holiest Christian holiday? ሓቁንድዩ ኣምላኽ ክገርፈኩም።

Selam one fact that we all Ethiopians agree is that Askaris are the enemy of Ethiopia since the day they robbed us Asab. the problem is some times you are forced to collaborate with your enemy and we did that. now the war is over and their god child Weyane is in its death bed. but these leeches are not going away that easy as their end goal is the total destruction and disintegration of Ethiopia.

Once Menelik signed the wuchale agreement with Italy. Ethiopia is allien to the nobility. Hence who is regarding these soldiers as traitors? They betray who exactly?

The low IQ southerners don't know the difference between an ascari and a traitor.

You need to ask your Agame Grandfather why Menelik treated the 1900 Italian POWs like ROYALTY, to the extent to which he sent his caravan of mules to Kenya to buy "የፈረንጅ ምግብ" from British Colonial forces to feed the Italian POWs, and then announced to release them in honor of the Queen of Italy's birthday before escorting them all the way to Djibouti for their safe return home. What has Menelik done in honor of your Agame grandfather's Birthday?

Not true. It is well documented by Italians and Ethiopians that the Askari Eritreans were a proud servant of the fascist colonizers. Italians were shocked to find out by the level of Eritreans interest to enlist in the slave army. The Askaris murdered Libyans, Somalians and Ethiopians on behalf of Italians. That is a fact.

Also, there was no Italian resistance in Eritrea and Tigray. Prof Mesfin w/m has written about it in his book, I believe in “Emboch”, detailing distribution of resistance and counter action by Italians. Gojam and Northern Shewa lead the resistance in high percentage, followed by Gonder. Tigray has zero resistance. The Italians in return allocates a lot of money in places where the resistance was high. Mesfin detailed the resistance movement in spreadsheets like table.

The Eritreans were embarrassingly and voluntarily allowed themselves to be brutalized by Italians. Italy didn’t face any resistance from Eritreans. The only colonized people in the world who accepted to be slaves with no resistance.

And sold Italians, the ascari Masters, 500birr each to the local rich Ethiopians.

Selam,

What ever they call you, first of all, if it wasn’t for some Eritreans who notified the Minilik forces the incoming invasion of Ethiopia by the Italian forces, Italy would have had a shoo in to Ethiopia very easily. 10,000 strong Italian forces vs. 300,000:Ethiopia peasants, you are lucky, Mussolini was not in power. That little king called Emmanuelle was a lot like Haile Sellasie. Enough said.

This is why you don't find a single smart ascari eritrean. As a kid she sees this and develops a sense of hopelessness, she wants to get married to a non ascari. The ascari boys become alcoholic and abuse drugs. That is why we see all types of wierd ascari eritreans everywhere. That is why nobody trust ascaris in their social circles.

Being an ascari eritrean is the worst thing in life

That is also one reason why ascaris are on Ethiopian websites, they want to feel human by talking to Ethiopians
