Muslims, Christians and other religious groups living in peace and harmony is essential to all countries. If this was the case in Ethiopia it would be a commendable. The problem with your tigrayan compatriots is that they idiotically believe Axum is a sacred city same as mecca while the Ark of the Covenant is placed in Axum tsion church (I am sure, you don't believe such crap because you are an educated person).

As a result the tigriyans do not allow their compatriot tigrayan muslims to build a god's house aka mosque in Axum because it would negate their faith.

As a result, they established a village called wukro islam. It is located around 15 miles away from axum. Here the tigray muslims are forced to bury their loved ones.

I feel sad when I see the tigray muslims during the rainy seasons, praying in open air no roof over their heads and the rain pouring over their ears.

In May 2002 the government shut down many Christian churches. There are around 220 Christians in prison and Eritrean troops are killing pastors.

This May marks 20 years since the Eritrean dictatorship shut down most Christian churches.

The only religions allowed are Sunni Islam, Eritrean Orthodox church, Roman Catholicism and the Lutheran Church, although the registered churches are also under tight control.

Christians who continue to worship and meet in banned congregations are considered enemies of the country, which is known as “the North Korea of Africa”.
