The risk of Eritreans separation from Ethiopia could had been reduced to zero and Abiy could do the same when Eritrea becomes with out government after the collapse of the Isaias government. The only risk Abiy could face after integrating Eritrea with Tigray is Tigray could be too strong but it is the plan of God to shift the center of gravity of Ethiopia from Addis Ababa to Axum , which is not stoppable!

You cant stop a people if they want to separate u need to learn this it didnt work for serbia and kosovo it didnt work for Sudan and South sudan and it certainly wouldnt work for Ethiopia, lets just say Eritrea was federated with tigray , Eritreans would still know their borders the mereb river that divides them and their tigrayan cousins so lets say after 1950 eritrea and tigray being part of Ethiopia that still wouldnt stop Eritreans from fighting for their country based on the italian colonial borders , so there is nothing u could have done or haile sellasie could have done
