The three regimes have exerted every effort to delegitimize it. Thus, what you witness is a confluence of various factors. While I don't endorse the abandonment of the historically constructed Ethiopian Orthodox paintings, replaced by unadulterated European depictions of a white Jesus flooding the market, I believe the Ethiopian Orthodox Church can spearhead the restoration of its historical religious artworks. It's feasible.

However, you're discussing a different phenomenon occurring within the new generation of Ethiopians. I don't believe Ethiopians are inherently predisposed to admiration for whiteness.
