Interesting that this brave lady doesn’t see ENDF defeating Fano even as an option because she knows that road will never be successful and will never bring peace. So she proposed two options, either government making peace with Fano which she seem to know is unrealistic and then suggested the most realistic option in her opinion to bring peace i.e. ENDF should withdraw from the Amhara region. By the way she’s not alone, the people in the Amhara region have been demanding ENDF to withdraw from the region.

This suggestion shows also that she doesn’t see any threat coming from Fano to the well-being of the people. She fears no harm coming from Fano side, no looting or rape or destruction of public property. On the contrary all these crimes are committed by one side i.e. ENDF. That’s the reason why there’s law and order in all woredas which are under Fano control. Both private and public services are functioning normally but wherever ENDF goes, it brings death, destruction and chaos.

Abiy has destroyed the reputation of ENDF beyond reparation as no other PM before him and this will have huge consequences for ENDF in the future. Either ENDF will be dismantled as it has lost the trust of Ethiopians or it will be heavily restructured with tight parliamentary oversight to never intervene into internal conflicts with few exceptions and with limited mandate briefly. One thing is for sure, ENDF’s days as we know it is numbered!
