Kenya president: Russia's unjustified war on Ukraine must be stopped

The Russian Federation's war against Ukraine must be stopped, and the positions of individual African countries on the issue should not be equated with that of the whole of Africa.

That’s according to Kenya’s President William Ruto, who spoke in Berlin at a joint press conference following a meeting with Chancellor of Germany Olaf Scholz on Tuesday, an Ukrinform correspondent reports.

"The war in Europe must end, the aggression against Ukraine is not justified by anything," Ruto said. At the same time, he noted that the positions of individual countries in Africa should never be equated with the position of the whole continent.

According to Ruto, a threat to peace anywhere in the world is a threat to global peace, too.

He noted that the position of his state is based on what citizens believe in: respect for the UN Charter, the sovereignty and territorial integrity of all countries, and global rules-based society.

Olaf Scholz, in turn, thanked Kenya for their stance on Russia's war of aggression against Ukraine.

"This is a very clear, very brave position, it is important for global security," said German chancellor.

It should be noted that Kenya last November (when it was a non-permanent member of the UN Security Council) became one of the four African nations that supported the resolution calling on Russia to pay reparations to Ukraine.

In mid-January this year, William Ruto had a phone call with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky.

Issu won't appreciate what Mr. Ruto said because implicitly he is targeted. The Kenyan president is an intelligent person and he can talk freely while he was elected in a free and fair election monitored by the international community.

Forget Russia, sadly it can be considered as super power but ruled by a ruthless dictator named Putin, the father of corruption who buys his loyals. Few days ago, I was reading the famous English newspaper guardian and in one of its columns it was stated that the daughter of Lavrov, russia's foreign minister owns not a villa but a palace in London.

This ex-KGB secret agent is dangerous to world peace and to his country. He is poisoning those who oppose his war of aggression in the Ukraine. In the last 2 weeks, he poisoned 2 famous Russians.

The death count amongst Russia’s “elite” since Russia invaded Ukraine in February 2022 is now 39.



Sergey Grishin the so-called "Scarface" oligarch who sold Meghan and Harry their California mansion - died this week of sepsis after criticising Putin. He was nicknamed Scarface because he had owned another mansion where the 1983 Al Pacino movie was filmed. His cause of death was given as “circulatory problems in his brain” which led to sepsis.


The Russian tycoon was the former co-owner of RosEvroBank - and once boasted he had brought the Russian bank system to its knees in the 1990s by committing a $60bn fraud. He called it “the largest bank fraud scheme ever”, orchestrating a $60billion heist from the Russian Central Bank.

“There are two kinds of victim, as far as we can tell: those who are opposed to Putin's Ukraine policies, frequently involved in big Russian corporations," explained Professor Glees.

"And those who Putin believes have double-crossed him, oligarchs from the world of business who have taken the money but not done his bidding, whether kept cash not meant for them, or opposed him politically, or perhaps both."

"The big question for analysts is whether these killings are 'political' murders of political opponents who might be plotting to get rid of Putin, or 'mafia' killings designed to 'encourage' those who have taken Putin's gold not to stray, to understand that they were given shed loads of money - which actually belongs not to Putin but the people of Russia - to do as Putin orders, not to spend on themselves.
