"cultivate Eritrea’s next generation and prepare for a post-Isaias era"

Post by justo » 28 Mar 2023, 00:01

How would that even be possible?

An outsider cannot cultivate Eritrean mind to suit its needs. Unlike the USA, Eritrea is a nation of enfranchised stake-holders, with a communal mind-set cultivated over thousands of years.Despite the many misdeeds and negligences of the government, you cannot make an Eritrean go against his country, save for few weaklings. The west should know this by now.

Transition is now inevitable and Eritrea should prepare for it. Isaias can show gratitude to the loyalty of the Eritrean people and without delay start preparing the next generation to take charge, or can continue with his current style of leadership travelling alone or with one or two selected emissaries, he has to make a choice. Either way, transition is inevitable and Eritrea will not fall for US machinations.

Great analysis.
I have to admit that you are a good guy. But, you know like I do, your good words will fall on deaf ears.  The people need to say enough is enough although it is long over due. A quarter of a century late for a meaningful change to come. It may be too late. But, miracles do happen like our independence that has been hijacked for a very long time.
