In his historic message to the Ethiopians people when he visited Addis in 2018, Esu made it clear that Eritrea would not allow any spoiler to derail the peace that was agreed upon with Abiy. If only Agames had the intelligence to understand that warning, they wouldn't be in the pitiful state they are in now. All the pain that they will feel for the next century could have been avoided. But back then, Ugos were in the stratosphere of hallucinations. Their self-adulation had reached the zenith. They were, in their view, an exceptional people! Well, they paid for their stupidity and will go on paying for a long time to come.

ምሓሾም ተዝሰምዑ፡ ምኽሪ ናይ ኤሱ
ነጊርዎም ብልሳኑ፡ በታ ዘይትሕሱ
ሰላምናን ቅሳነትናም፡ ክዘርጉ ዝብገሱ
ሕቖኦም ከምዝስበር፡ ወትሩ ከምዝጠዓሱ።

ሰላም ኮይኑ፡ ክንዲ ዝሕጎሱ
ብትዕቢት ሰኺሮም፡ ሓንጎሎም በስቢሱ
ኣይሰምዕንየ ዝብል፡ ስምዒት ነጊሱ
ዕንደራ ዝብህግ፡ መንእሰይ ወሪሱ
ኵናት መሲልዎ፡ ዝኸውን ፈውሱ
ትግራዋይ ብዓዱ፡ ናብ ግምባር ፈሊሱ
ህይወቱ ሓሲሩ፡ ካብ ደርሆ ረኺሱ
ናይ ሓደ ሚልዮን ደም፡ ከንቱ ፈሲሱ
ብስርቂ ዝተሃንጸ፡ ከምዘይነበረ በሪሱ
እንሄልኩም ወዲቑ፡ ኣብ ቀደሙ ተመሊሱ
ተዋሪዱ ክነብር፡ ካብ ካልኦት ንኢሱ።
