Yesterday I was in Addis to meet @SecBlinken and brief him on the progress in the implementation of the Peace Agreement & the stumbling blocks going forward. We have reaffirmed our unwavering commitment to peace and to rise up to the challenges posed by forces bent on sabotaging peace; and our readiness to do our part in addressing the lingering issues ostensibly standing in the way of all rounded efforts to alleviate the sufferings of our people including the establishment of an interim administration.

Equally important, we have shared our views on the need to ensure accountability for crimes committed in the war on and in Tigray. While the a robust transitional justice framework is commendable, it’s our position that accountability for crimes in Tigray goes beyond a national framework hence the need for international efforts.

@SecBlinken also reaffirmed the US government’s commitment to further consolidate efforts to enhance humanitarian, to mobilize resources for rehabilitation & to continue to engage the parties to the Agreement in the interest of peace & stability in Ethiopia & the entire region.

Both Getachew and Blinken know how to avoid the minefield Welkite and Humera so they skirt it using a nebulous verb" Sabotaging " blah blah. Weyanes think what they stole and lost is going to fall back on their lap on a silver platter by Abiy's trickery or twisting his hand using America. Bit when it comes to Welkite Abiy's monte card play is no use .. Getachew knows it, Blinken and Abiy know it .

Leave the fake “Tigray genocide” claim aside, do you think your few surviving coward TPLF leaders would escape from being brought to justice for the crime and massacre they committed against the Amara and Afar people? I don’t think your master, Blinken would save your coward leaders from being hanged soon by the Ethiopian people.

Blinken knows what he is doing. Abiye, Getachew and the rest of us do not.

The priority for the American interest is an Ethiopia that will not challenge the interest of Egypt and the stability of the Middle East. The interest of Egypt is a destabilized and under developed Ethiopia.

Blinken is achieving his goals with out dropping a single bomb. We have a PM that Blinken can dictate and hand twist. And we have a Weyannies blinded by hatred and money, not only embarrassed us as an Africans but they are about to destroy themselves to extinction.

We Ethiopians loves to talk 24/7 but we are unable to create a single political party that can stand in the way of dictatorship. Instead we have tons soft science Drs, engineers and military officers willingly serving the system of dictatorship.

So, let it be crystal clear that Mr Blinken doesn’t care about the Weyannies, Abiye or Ethiopians. He may have been surprised by the level of stupidity in our country.

Sure he will demand for a BS accountability for war crimes and unfair opening of corridors for the Weyannies.at the end of the day it is all about Egypt.

Talking heads can't read tea leaves to predict what will come to pass, they are as opinionated as any other, though some are more insightful than another. It is not a secret that at the beginning of the conflict America was trumpeting western Tigray burahaha ad nauseam now that has subsided for a reason. How this will turn out mainly depends on how BADN responds -- all indications are the only thing that unites BADN and the Amharas is the Welkit issue. How BADN plays its card right determines what happens in Welkit and Humera . If it stands firm it has the support of all Amharas, but if it gives in BADN will not be able to govern. That would be the dream come true for the anti-Amhara camp. One hopes they will not be stupid enough to be again the tool of anti-Amhara and Anti-Ethiopian camps.

America’s #1 priority is forcing Ethiopia abide by Egypt’s demand on how to use the Nile Dam. It looks like Abiye has agreed to the demands. Would he sign in public or in secret, time will tell.
No, America hasn’t abandoned the Western Tigray BS. Implementing the peace treaty and call of war accountability is a political stick they are using carefully for western Tigray.
TPLF, however weak will be around to serve American interest. It can only survive with the Opening of a corridor.

Please organize yourself and pick a resistance leader to save the country. Regardless, we can save Raya and Welkayit when we save Ethiopia.

Nothing has changed. The goal remains the same. The sequence of things, what happens when, is the only thing that has changed.
