In memory of the 800 ascari-agames who lost their left hand and right feet!

Post by Axumezana » 25 Feb 2023, 21:37

The cost of defeat
The Battle of Adowa cost the lives of 289 Italian officers, 2,918 European soldiers and about 2,000 askari. A further 954 European troops were missing, while 470 Italians and 958 askari were wounded.

Some 700 Italians and 1,800 askari were captured by the Ethiopian troops. The prisoners were forced to march to Addis Ababa, where the Italians were repatriated after payment of 10 million lire “reparation” by the Italian government.

A far more terrible fate befell the askaris. Some 800 captured askaris, regarded as traitors by the Ethiopians, had their right hands and left feet amputated.

The report below is from a British officer and was published in the British Medical Journal of 29 August 1896.

Shouldn't you be more concerned about the 1,000,000 Agames who have perished in the useless war in the past 2 years. I am sure you have a lot of close family members who have perished and no one knows when or where. But I suppose a dumbo like you thinks talking about anything but what should matter to every Agame is a pain-killer. I mean, you are doing everything possible to divert your attention from the your sordid realities. That is known as DENIAL.

Again, the number is 1,000,000, about 20% of the Agame population, that has disappeared into the netherworld! That is a lot of Geresadiq's and Gereananyas!
