That is what you can show off as a big achievment. The Orthodox Church in Ethiopia (EOC) has failed as an institution like all the other so called political actors and major players in forgeting and ignoring the bigger chunk of their followers, when it comes to speaking the same languages of the followers and be cognizant of their local traditions for over millenia and centuries.
Now those actors have to reap what they have sown, no showing of individual faces can change that!

Church is not a political institution ;members work within it to expand their base . Those who refused to work within they leave the church and establish their own with their own dogma. What tribalist ,such as you and Abiy, don't seem to understand is that the rule of faith and the crudest form of tribal politicking don't mix. Your tribal eye is absurd to see further. Leave the church for its leader . Th church has an army of millions who are ready to pay whatever it take including accepting death enthusiastically. Orthodox is very internally oriented church but if outsiders insert themselves in its affairs the wouldn't know what they hit them. Just check the 1000 of years of it's history.

The church leaders and the Ethiopian elitist rulers have been working hand in hand since the inception of the Ethiopian empire/state. It was they who blessed the armies that went to the south, and enslaved, conquered, burned, pillaged, etc, and they received large swathes of lands in the conquered south, particularly Oromo lands, for their blessings and services to the emperor.
The truth is, a lot of people associate it with being Amara or tigrayan, and if you're not one of those groups, you're not considered a true Christian, especially if you dare preach the gospel or Christianity in another language.
Nobody is telling Amara's or Tigrayans what language to preach their religion in, in their respective states, so why the double standards when it comes to Oromo in Oromia? We know why and the reasons ain't genuine or righteous.
