Well, Jawar probably was saying arming civilians would cause more violence as armed people will not be considered as civilians and become legitimate targets for OLF. In that regard, I fully support protecting civilians with trained security personnel. Giving civilians weapons and abandon them to fight off OLF alone is a devilish idea. Civilians with weapons can only protect their homes from common thieves, not from highly trained militants and Oromia Liyu force.

For peace to come to the area the table has to be turned. The Amaharas has to claim their ancestral lands of Welega.

Exactly brother, Welega and Shewa are our ancestoral lands. We will see how far olf can go before they run to Kenya then we will talk about the rest of our ancestoral lands. We dont need others', we only claim what's ours! That is why God has always been with us!

What I am afraid is that Birr Amtu Sainega and his boss Mamo Killo will spin it. They will say the people are armed and they don't need federal government protection. I never considered ENDF a viable force to protect the Amhara people in Wollega. I'm kind of hoping for UN peacekeeping force like Ruwanda and Darfur to enter and prevent OLF and Oromia Liyu forces from attacking Amharas. Every Ethiopian should voice their desire for UN peacekeeping force.

Right

Arming locals does not do much other then cause more suffering because the ENDF will not take responsibility for locals in a terrorist zone leading to anarchy destabilization and savagery. Amhara will not do well in Welega they must evacuate all peaceful Amhara civilian from that area but in Benishangul the diversity makes it easier to root out terrorists Amhara can succeed in former Gojjam lands

Dont forget the issues are political that is why one zone is peaceful and the other in ashes
