abiy Ahmed Condemns Thousands Of Addis Abebans To Homelessness For His New palace

Post by Bashu » 06 Dec 2022, 09:17

I was in Addis recently and sadly witnessed people getting evicted from their kebele homes to make room for abiy's new palace and became homeless overnight. Some of the victims had jobs that pays only between 2000 and 3000 Birr per month. But right now anywhere in Addis, you will never find a one room place to rent under 3000 Birr. The 3000 birr may get you the room but nothing else left for food and other essentials. They were paying only 200 birr or less before the eviction.

One of the poorest countries in the world, Ethiopia, has two decent palaces at the heart of the capital but they are deemed not good enough by the heartless and selfish abiy, therefore thousands of people had to be condemned to become godana tedadari.

In contrast, USA, the richest nation in the world still houses its presidents ( from the first president George washington to current Joe Biden) in a modest palace/white house built over 200 hundred years ago. it can afford to build an elaborate, extravagant place for its leaders but it is a historical place and no president ever dares to move it elsewhere.
