The legend Idris Mohamed Ali is languishing in the ira-iro notorious prison since the year 2005 almost 17 years long. Nobody can tell whether he is alive or not. He was never brought to a court of law and he himself does not know what his crime is according to those he knew him in prison.

The veteran Idris M. Ali, hails from a village in Sahil and which is located not far from Nakfa. He joined the ELF at young age in the 1960s and he served his country as fighter and in the mean time as an artist till the independence of Eritrea.

He is gifted in composing songs, songs such as AKBARAU which was sang by helen pawlos belongs to him.

As we speak, in every tigre wedding ceremony, his songs are prominent. I have never ever encountered any tigre wedding ceremony where his songs are not there.

I pray and hope, he is alive.
