Ethiopia's Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed says there is “heavy foreign interference” in the continuing talks between the government and Tigray administration but remains hopeful a peace pact will be reached.

Speaking to the China Global Television Network (CGTN), Mr. Abiy said Ethiopians can solve their matters despite international pressure for a ceasefire.

“Of course, if there are lots of interventions from left and right, it’s very difficult,” Mr. Abiy said.

"Ethiopians should understand we can solve our own issues by ourselves."

He also confirmed the federal army’s capture of the Tigray towns of Shire, Axum, and Adwa last month from the rebel Tigray People's Liberation Front (TPLF).

“We are trying to convince TPLF to respect the law of the land, to respect the constitution, and to act as one state in Ethiopia,” he said.

Galla lady

You're right. The genocidal forces want TDF disarmed but the Galla in Addis Ababa has invited foreign forces to slaughter his citizens.

The international community has seen that Abiy is wicked and narcissist.

Weak Amhara can't match Tegaru that's why they crying everyone to join with them; all of Ethiopia, Afar, Shabbos even begging Somalis with the "Horn under attack, join NOmore, disarm terrorist TPLF"

So TDF will come to haunt the Amhara, Galla will be undecided, Shabbo will li.ck their wounds haven gotten burnt in Tigray again...

Abiy has no dollar to even fly to Nairobi.

Somalis have no issues with Tegaru and there's no such thing as Horn of Africa, which they (Tegaru) too don't exist in. Stop twerking in the name of HoA, no West is after this poor region. Some are just speaking against the ethnic based genocide.

Abiye Ahmed- close this war decisively. It shouldn’t take this long. You left the door open to foreigners by not rapping up the war quickly. When you do, make sure to hang the TPLF top leaders so that others will learn not to follow the TPLF path.
I don’t trust you. You talk too much.
Why not the Ethiopian reporters instead of the Chinese?
Dismantle the TPLF constitution or f..k out of their.

Tigray rebels accuse Ethiopia of attacks after peace deal

Issued on: 04/11/2022

Addis Ababa (AFP) – Tigrayan authorities on Friday accused Ethiopia's government of carrying out a drone strike on civilians, less than 48 hours after the warring parties signed a deal to end their bloody conflict.

The breakthrough agreement sealed in South Africa has been hailed internationally as a key step towards stopping a war that began exactly two years ago on Friday.

A spokesman for the rebel Tigray People's Liberation Front (TPLF) alleged that Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed's government had carried out attacks against civilians in the Tigrayan city of Maychew on Thursday.

"According to sources at Lemlem-Karl Hospital, drone of #Ethiopia has attacked civilians," Kindeya Gebrehiwot said on Twitter.

"There was also shelling of artillaries in the same city that killed & wounded civilians. This happens after signing the peace agreement at #Pretoria," he said.

EZEMA opposes government move to Oromize Addis Ababa

December 8, 2022

For one of the largest non-ethnic-based opposition political parties in Ethiopia, EZEMA, the move to impose Oromia flag and anthem on residents of Addis Ababa is something that does violate the constitution that was crafted to impose the interests of a particular group

“The move to repress the interests and rights of the people of Addis Ababa should stop immediately!” Ethiopian Citizens For Social Justice Party (EZEMA) said in a statement it released on Thursday.

It came days after video footage of police brutality on a high school student who happened to be from a school that refused to sing an anthem believed to be invented to nurture ethnic Oromo nationalism across schools in the Oromo region of Ethiopia.

It has been about a year now since Oromia regional state, with apparent tacit support from the Federal government and Addis Ababa city administration, has been attempting to impose a regional flag and anthem on elementary, junior and secondary schools in many parts of Addis Ababa.

The statement from EZEMA said that there are signs that unnecessary tension and conflict across many elementary and secondary schools in Addis Ababa which started in December 2021 and continued until yesterday, is worsening. Classes have been disrupted and violence has been caused.

Having elaborated on the meaning of the flag and national anthem their demonstrated significance in the struggle to maintain Ethiopia’s independence and how Ethiopian long-distance athletes used it in Olympic events, EZEMA said the attempt to impose a single region’s flag and anthem ( on parity with Ethiopian flag and national anthem) in schools across Addis Ababa a practice that demonstrates that about plans to entrench violence and conflict.

At least two killed as Oromo region special forces fire on Ethiopian Orthodox Tewahedo Church followers in Shashemene

February 4, 2023

Killing of members of the church who dared to protect the church from being occupied by the illegal groups as public anger on the position of the Prime Minister is growing

At least two people are killed and several others injured in Shashemene – about 261 kilometers South of Ethiopian capital Addis Ababa. One died at the spot and the other one reportedly died hours later from his injuries.

Four others have sustained injuries that could be a life threatening one, according to local sources close to the Ethiopian Church.

The incident happened in St. Michael Church in the city. What sources say is that the arrival of the illegally appointed Bishop for the Dioceses was announced and church bell ringing was heard.

Residents of Shashemene rushed to St. Michael Church to protect the church. Gates to the church premises were reportedly locked by security forces not to allow the laity to enter the church premise.

When they gathered outside the church, police, reportedly, fired gunshot to disperse the crowd. But police action did not disperse the crowd apparently – and police started to shoot live bullets to disperse it.

Oromo regional state special forces are said to be behind the killing and they are said to have used a sniper.

Tewahedo Media Center cited Melake Tsehay Kesis Yohannes Zelalem, head of Arsi Diocese Parish, as saying “The Pressure on the part of the government is strong and bitter. We all have prepared to die.”

One of the victims is identified as Ayele Mandefro who is said to be serving in the choir service of St. Mary church in the city. The other victim is Gemechu Gudina – according to social media sources. Followers of the Ethiopian Orthodox Tewahedo Church are celebrating them as martyrs while condemning government illegal action in support of the illegal group.

The update from the Holy Synod about the situation confirmed the killing in Shashemene by government forces.

Evidently Ethiopia is heading that way. Maybe it is a blessing in disguise. Ethiopia will stop being a cash cow for its enemies.
The disintegration will hurt Tigray the most. Contrary to what other ethnic groups believe, the Amaharas will do well.

Abiye didn’t finish the stupid war decisively. Intentional or not that is a huge mistake. And he failed to contain the nation wide chaos he created. The dude is done. He is a deadman walking. So is Ethiopia.

That is correct! The ethnic political adherents took the bait fully believing that the Amhara would always give up anything of their own to protect the unity of the country. How mistaken they are !! We shall see if their green pasture is to be there for perpetuity.

Ethiopian military clashes with militia in Amhara, injuries reported

By Dawit Endeshaw August 2, 2023

ADDIS ABABA, Aug 2 (Reuters) - Ethiopia's military has clashed with fighters from a militia in the Amhara region, residents said on Wednesday, in an escalation of a simmering feud between the two former allies that a doctor said had caused more than a dozen injuries.

Fano, a part-time militia with no formal command structure, backed federal troops in a two-year civil war in the neighbouring Tigray region that ended last November. But the relationship has soured over what some in the region say is a disregard by the national government for Amhara's security.

In a rare public comment by a senior federal government official on an internal security matter, Deputy Prime Minister Demeke Mekonnen said "security problems in different areas of Amhara region are becoming concerning".

"We are at a historical moment where we should consider the fact that 'if you don't have peace, you will lose everything,'" he said on his Facebook page, calling for peaceful dialogue.

Several images of victims of the attacks have been shared on social media by families and friends.

Addis Abeba – Several people have been killed, many others injured in the Oromo special zone of the Amhara region in what local residents described as a series of “coordinated attacks” perpetuated by the Fano militia and uniformed regional police forces.

A total of 27 people were killed, and more than 40 others have been injured in the attacks since 09 March in the Jille Dhumuga district of the zone, according to locals.
