Somalia has been under permanent US military occupation since 1992 and the US regularly conducts air patrols over Somalia to ensure the security of Somalia, yes, that is correct, to ensure the security of Somalia, (their own words), an independent African country but not reported by mainstream media outlets.

This is not desert sand, It is coastal dunes formed by beach sand piled up by strong winds from Somali ocean, Somalia coastline is characterized by strong seasonal alongshore winds.
The entire coastline of Somalia contain a huge deposit of rare and valuable, heavy mineral sands.
