Trust me, at this juncture, Somalia doesn't need any minerals or crude oil but competent leaders - and not a useless and shameless corrupt to the bone marrow thief like Hasan Sheikh Mohamoud. And I pray all the time that no a single mineral or crude oil be discovered in Somalia, as this would only lead the country to be added to the list of the countries of the resource curse.

Somali imposter

Your prayers are too little, too late, Over a half-century ago, European and American Geologists have discovered and mapped the vast untapped mineral and oil and gas deposits in Somalia and that's exactly why America's policymakers are not taking their eyes off Somalia.

Somalia will become a major supplier of raw materials and the world's largest oil and gas exporter in the future, In the meantime, keep praying and being envious of Somalis.

I can't be envious of myself, as I'm the only one from Somalia on this forum. What I'm saying is that while Somalia is in such a protracted chaos and heartless corrupts are running the show in the country, discovery of oil or vast mineral deposits would only exacerbate the current lamentable situation in the country, and most of all, would lead to the creation of a very rich class and an abjectly poor people living in the worst conditions possible and are barely able to survive off - God forbid.

Have you noticed, by-the-way, that you're unable to agree with a single person on this forum, neither does anyone agree on anything with you!

Your mental and behavioural disorders must be worsening!

Identity crisis is a horrible Illness.

You mean to say develop and exploit the economic mineral, oil & gas deposits in their own country, All right but please learn the difference between develop and discover, Somalia is already known for having a huge mineral deposits, your prayers won't be answered.

Anyway, don't become too preoccupied with the current situation in Somalia, what is happening in Somalia is beyond the scope of your knowledge, Somalis will kick US troops & US spies out of their country and everything will be fine.

United States Combined Joint Task Force – Horn of Africa Visit to Berbera Somalia

On January 13, U.S. Combined Joint Task Force – Horn of Africa (CJTF-HOA) personnel conducted a site survey visit to the port of Berbera. The visit comes in advance of the U.S.-led multinational military training exercise Justified Accord scheduled for February 2023.

Justified Accord is designed to increase multinational cooperation in crisis response and counterterrorism operations and prepare regional partners for UN and African Union-mandated missions. In addition to the port of Berbera, Justified Accord exercises will take place in Botswana, Djibouti, Kenya, Rwanda, and Uganda with the participation from 20 partner nations, including Somalia.

The U.S. military routinely surveys potential operating locations to prepare for contingencies and exercise readiness or adjust force posture as directed.

US strike kills approximately 30 al-Shabaab fighters in Somalia

The United States carried out a strike in Somalia that killed approximately 30 al-Shabaab fighters, US Africa Command said in a statement Saturday.

US forces on Friday “conducted a collective self-defense strike” in support of Somalia National Army forces who were “engaged in heavy fighting following a complex, extended, intense attack by more than 100 al-Shabaab fighters,” the statement said, referring to the terror group linked to al Qaeda.

There were no US military present on the ground when the airstrike occurred, a US defense official said.

The strike occurred about 260 kilometers northeast of the Somalian capital of Mogadishu, near Galcad. US Africa Command assessed that no civilians were injured or killed due to the remote location.

The US has provided ongoing support to the Somali government since President Joe Biden approved a Pentagon request to redeploy US troops to the area in an attempt to counter the terrorist group in May 2022.

(Old article)

American policymakers 40 year long unhealthy obsession with Somalia has nothing to do with geo-strategic location of Somalia, The main objective of the presence of US troops in Somalia is motivated by the desire to take possession of Somalia's untapped natural resources, the secondary US objective in Somalia is to prevent Somalia’s natural resources from slipping into the hands of countries that are classified as a threat to US global hegemony and to keep Somalia in a state of war and chaos, this is the only reason the US cementing its presence in Somalia.

Over the past four decades US has used a variety of tactics, including Ethiopia and Kenya, to destabilize Somalia, now it has its naked eyes stationed in Somalia.

A US military operation killed a senior ISIS leader and 10 members of the terror group in northern Somalia on Wednesday, two senior Biden administration officials said on Thursday.

“From a mountainous cave complex in Northern Somalia, Bilal al-Sudani is assessed to have supported ISIS’ expansion and activities across Africa and beyond the continent,” the first senior administration official said.

Secretary of Defense Lloyd Austin confirmed that al-Sudani had been killed in a statement later on Thursday.

“On January 25, on orders from the President, the U.S. military conducted an assault operation in northern Somalia that resulted in the death of a number of ISIS members, including Bilal-al-Sudani, an ISIS leader in Somalia and a key facilitator for ISIS’s global network. Al-Sudani was responsible for fostering the growing presence of ISIS in Africa and for funding the group’s operations worldwide, including in Afghanistan,” Austin said.

“No civilians were harmed as a result of this operation. We are grateful to our extraordinary service members as well as our intelligence community and other interagency partners for their support to this successful counterterrorism operation,” Austin added.

US forces, according to the official, were prepared to capture al-Sudani but the “hostile force’s response” ultimately resulted in his death.

No US troops or civilians were killed, although one service member was injured during the operation after being bitten by an American military dog.The second official said that the US notified two counterterrorism partners, including the Somali government.

It’s unusual for the US to carry out an operation against ISIS in Somalia, where military operations have typically focused on al-Shabaab fighters, the dominant terror group in Somalia. The strike comes after US forces killed two top ISIS leaders in an airstrike in Syria near the end of last year.

Northern Somalia is relatively more peaceful than the so called western countries.

Northwestern Somalia.

Imperialists and Terrorists are two sides of the same coin thus it's time for Africa to unite against imperialism and terrorism.

(Old News)

Actually, U.S. troops have been operating in Somalia since 1992 without pause and have been conducting air strikes in the country since 2007.

In 1992 George H W Bush, the 41st US president and former oil tycoon who died 2018 ordered the Pentagon to dispatch more than 30,000 U.S. Marines plus 15,000 Europeans, 5000 Canadian and Australian soldiers to Somalia under the pretext of humanitarian intervention, his motive was obvious to take control of the country's natural resources.

In 1953, George H W Bush co-founded and became the president of Zapata Offshore Petroleum Company.

America - if I can't have Somalia's untapped natural resources no one else can have it.

FILE - A U.S. Army soldier assigned to Site Security Team Task Force Guardian, is seen at an unidentified location in Somalia, June 10, 2020.

When Somalis lay their head down every night and go to sleep in peace, US soldiers stand guard to protect American interests, American interests in someone else's land, that's right.

America knows that Somalia has abundant rare and precious minerals, oil and natural gas, expect the US troops to remain there no matter what the cost.

Beautiful Somali night sky.

USA militarization of Somalia - Armed aerial patrol over Somalia and ready to kill innocent Somalis,

A pair of ‘Gamblers’ F-16Cs conduct an armed aerial patrol over Somalia in support of Operation Octave Quartz on January 2, 2021. USAF/Staff Sgt Trevor T McBride.

America is clinging to Somalia not because Americans care about Somalis but because Somalia is awash with minerals that are vital to the economic prosperity and defense sectors of the United States, There is a rising geopolitical competition for access to Africa’s natural resources, thus it is in the national interests of the USA to secure access to Somalia's mineral deposits through military conquest.
