I bet you certain percent of Nile is already given away to foreigners, if not all. I see Dereje's view as pragmatic.

What he said then was a predominant view of many; what kind of a "warm blooded Ethiopian" would build a dam to irrigate Sudan's vast land? :~)

It was just too much for any one doing such a thing to appease the wishy washy Sudan; nonetheless, GERD has turned out to be a fine project & an Ethiopian pride. Now, it's clear for all to see.

Lo and be hold, we may even do fisheries? & tourism granted with less power generation at the present location too as the newly re-awakened Dereje pointed out!

We do not need to be stingy in giving credit where credit is due including Meles.
