Israel has dumped Eritrea for Mozambique

Post by AbyssiniaLady » 10 Jul 2022, 16:55

Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Yair Lapid recently approved the closure of the embassy in Eritrea and the opening of an embassy in Mozambique because Mozambique is expected to become the world’s third largest natural gas exporter by 2023 and the largest supplier of mineral resources to Europe.

Eritrea stalling the arrival of the tiny Israel ambassador for two years is blatant lies.

Large gas field discovered off coast of Mozambique

20 October 2011

The oil field was discovered off Mozambique by Italian oil and gas giant Eni

A large natural gas field has been discovered off the coast of Mozambique.

The field, containing up to 425 billion cubic metres (15tn cu ft) of gas, was discovered by Italian energy giant Eni.

Eni was given a licence in 2006 to explore the area, which is about 2,000km (1,250 miles) north of the capital, Maputo.

The discovery raises the prospects that East Africa contains more natural gas than previously thought and could become a major gas exporter.

A rival US oil and gas explorer, Andarko, raised its estimates of the amount of natural gas in the Mozambique area earlier this month by two-thirds.

"The Mamba South discovery marks a new milestone for Eni, since the resource potential assessed with the first exploration well makes it the largest operated discovery in the company's exploration history," the company said.

The discovery was about 40km off the Cabo Delgado coast, Eni said.

PM Lapid approves closure of Israeli embassy in Eritrea after ambassador blocked

Israeli prime minister Yair Lapid has approved the closure of the regime’s embassy in Eritrea as authorities in the Northeast African country have not been allowing the arrival of a diplomat from the occupied territories in the past two years.

Lapid, who is still serving as Israeli foreign minister, took the decision on Saturday to shutter the diplomatic mission in the Eritrean capital city of Asmara, after the local government had been delaying Ishmael Khaldi to take up the post despite his appointment.

According to Israeli media outlets, the embassy has remained empty in the aftermath of the Eritrean government's decision, and many of its staffers are currently in their homes without doing any particular tasks.

The outlets added that the Tel Aviv regime spends tens of thousands of dollars per month on rent and other fees for the employees.

The last Israeli ambassador left Asmara in September 2018. Since then, the Israeli Foreign Ministry has sent a temporary administrator for the embassy from time to time.

Until April 2020, the head of the embassy's security was the only Israeli representative in Eritrea, and his wife was responsible for the administrative work.

The Israeli foreign ministry then decided to evacuate the embassy in light of the COVID-19 pandemic. The embassy has been abandoned ever since.

On July 5, 2020, the regime's foreign ministry’s appointments committee appointed Ishmael Khaldi to serve as ambassador to Eritrea. The approval of his appointment was, however, delayed by Eritrean authorities.

Palestine's official Wafa news agency, quoting the London-based online newspaper Rai al-Youm and other sources reported on August 1, 2021, that at least 14 countries including South Africa, Tunisia, Eritrea, Senegal, Tanzania, Niger, the archipelago of Qamar, Gabon, Nigeria, Zimbabwe, Liberia, and the Seychelles had agreed to expel Israel from the 55-member African Union.

On July 22 that year, Israel attained observer status at the AU after nearly 20 years of lobbying.

The Algerian foreign minister says insistence on Israel
Making the move official, Israeli ambassador to Ethiopia, Burundi and Chad Aleli Admasu presented his credentials to Moussa Faki Mahamat, the chairman of the African Union Commission, at the bloc’s headquarters in the Ethiopian capital, Addis Ababa.

Experts say Israel’s observer status is largely seen as part of Tel Aviv's continued campaign to normalize ties in Africa.

Pro-Palestine language is typically featured in statements delivered at the AU’s annual summits. Palestine already has observer status at the African Union.

Mozambique, like many other countries in Africa is poor country with a very large uneducated population suffering from many social, economic and political problems, However, It is arguably one of the most liveable countries in Africa, It's also a very beautiful country.

Beautiful Mozambique is the second richest country in the southeastern, eastern and northeastern Africa in terms of natural resources After Somalia, Beautiful Mozambique has the second largest proven oil and natural gas reserves in the southeastern, eastern and northeastern Africa after Somalia, It also has the second largest, richest and most beautiful coastline after Somalia, excluding poor but beautiful Madagascar which has the second longest coastline in Africa after Somalia.

Simply put, Beautiful Mozambique is a country blessed with gorgeous nature, rich coastline and mineral resources.

This is Mozambique, who can blame Israel?

Italy's President In Mozambique To Discuss Gas Supplies

By AFP - Agence France Presse July 5, 2022

Italian President Sergio Mattarella met with his Mozambican counterpart Filipe Nyusi in Maputo on Tuesday to discuss gas supplies as Rome seeks to reduce its reliance on Russia.

Mattarella praised energy cooperation between the two countries during the visit, which came ahead of the opening of an offshore gas project run by Italian energy company Eni in Mozambique's insurgent-hit north.

"The forthcoming start of the export of liquefied natural gas from the Coral Sul plant, managed by Eni, is an important milestone that testifies to how precious our collaboration is," Mattarella told a press briefing in Maputo, according to remarks published on the Italian presidency's website.

Coral Sul, the first floating liquified natural gas (LNG) facility deployed in deep waters off Africa, arrived in Mozambique in early January. Once operational, it can produce 3.4 million tonnes of LNG a year.

Last month, Eni said the plant was "ready to achieve its first LNG cargo" in the second half of 2022.

Russia's invasion of Ukraine has injected urgency into efforts around the world to develop new energy sources as Western countries try to reduce their reliance on Russian gas.

Italy, one of Europe's biggest guzzlers of natural gas, has stepped up diplomatic contacts to secure alternative supplies in recent months –- and Mattarella, who holds a largely ceremonial role, has been helping with the effort.

That is a lie. It is Eritrea who dumped Israel. Israel appointed an ambassador and Eritrea rejected the appointed ambassador and Israel waited two years and as always Eritrea refused and stood by her decision. And the Israel government decided to shut it down. why always lie. I hate the sub-humans.

I tell you the reasons if you are interested:

Economically, the embassy is closed since 2 years. israeli PM labid announced yesterday, that israel is paying hundreds of thousands dollars every month for the 3 houses which they rented in eitrea since 2 years (one for the office of embassy another for the residence of the ambassador and the last one for the security official)

So no wonder here.

Mozambique Exports First LNG To Help Ease European Crunch

First Cargo Progetto Coral South. Photo Via Eni.com

By Matthew Hill and Borges Nhamire

Nov 13, 2022 (Bloomberg) –Mozambique flagged off its first shipment of liquefied natural gas, exports that could help ease Europe’s energy crunch as Russia squeezes supplies.

For Mozambique — one of the world’s poorest nations — it marks the end of a decade-long wait to monetize one of Africa’s largest offshore gas fields. President Filipe Nyusi announced the cargo’s departure in a statement Sunday.

The British Sponsor arrived last month in waters off northern Mozambique, about two weeks after the Coral-Sul Floating LNG vessel, operated by Eni SpA, started producing the super-chilled fuel. The tanker is owned by BP Plc, which has the rights to buy all of Coral-Sul’s output.

“The first shipment of LNG from Coral South project, and from Mozambique, is a new and significant step forward in Eni’s strategy to leverage gas as a source that can contribute in a significant way to Europe’s energy security,” Eni Chief Executive Officer Claudio Descalzi said in a separate statement .

The production platform has a capacity of 3.4 million tons per year of LNG — equal to about one-third of the UK’s imports last year. The first cargo is bound for Europe, Mozambique’s oil and gas regulator said last month.

The International Energy Agency warned in a report that Europe’s LNG markets are bracing “themselves for a winter of unprecedented uncertainty of supply,” because of sanctions in response to Russia’s invasion of Ukraine. A complete shutdown of pipeline flows to the European Union can’t be ruled out, it said.

That’s brought Mozambique’s resources into the spotlight, even as its biggest projects have faced years of delays.

Shameless Eritrea still maintains an embassy in Israel, in the United Arab Emirates and in the United States, even though these countries do not currently have an embassy or a consulate in Asmara, they have dumped Eritrea for other countries.

The UAE and Saudi Arabia have drastically scaled down their diplomatic relations with Eritrea.

The Eritrean Information Ministry has accused Israel’s Mossad and other intelligence agencies of disrupting “cultural events that have been taking place for decades,” after more than 100 people were injured in violent clashes in Tel Aviv between Eritrean government supporters celebrating an Eritrea Day event and opponents of President Isaias Afwerki.
