Was pleased to get a classified briefing from Tracey Ann Jacobson, Chargé d’Affaires of the United States to Ethiopia and our chief diplomat in Addis.
While I can't reveal the classified information provided, I can say that I urged that we demand that #Tigray not only receive food aid, but also the fuel necessary to get that food to the people most in need.
It's good that there appears to be a truce and I look forward to serious peace talks in the coming weeks. I also explained the need to provide aid to the 60,000 #Tigrayan refugees in #Sudan and focus on the Tigrayans under government control who have been detained simply because of their ethnicity.
