I think the Economist, especially the magazine that is reporting about Africa and the Middle East is not as vibrant as it used to be. I am not saying this just because I hold different political opinion than the magazine editorial board regarding the politics of East Africa. Their writing doesn’t sound something written by journalists ; it sounds something written by political cadres. Just read above that says “firm action is required.” The Economist seemed to have acted as the dispensers of truth. It is not that we are reading opinions ; we are reading a gospel. It is just mind boggling.

Sam,

I didn't find it that much "mind boggling" on my part. Why?

I didn't and don't expect a mission of reporting on what is on the ground, rather a mission of setting agenda for what has to happen on the ground next. That could make the difference, perhaps.

The Economist has lost most of its relevance.

Like most previously influential media outlets.

Everyone knows they have an agenda and what they write is full of lies. This article can be fact checked on phone in 2 minutes and immediately discredited.

This from TPLF's mouthpiece. Clearly if there is war it's not with Ethiopia.
