I thought about this and my honest opinion is that Fano, a popular force with in its base, should work with other popular forces, not HGDEF. HGDEF does not share the ideals of Fano which I believe are peace, justice, democracy and fair distribution of resources.

Fano should ally with forces that share its ideals, not forces that are against its ideals which HGDEF clearly is.

HGDEF is deeply unpopular within Eritrea and its governance record is clear to all. I believe people should unite in their struggles, not work or ally with each others’ tormentors.

In my thinking, the decision to let Fano stand as a force is up to the people it represents. Same with OLA. Same with Weyane. with HGDEF.

Alliances not based on principles are doomed to fail:
HGDEF TPLF
HGDEF OLF/OLA
HGDEF PP

All these alliances failed because it’s not based on principles but opportunistic and shortsighted views. Fano should learn from the mistakes of the above and numerous other alliances.

Fano should have good relation with Asmara. Amhara has a desire to use Port Massawa and Port Assab for economical purposes

But TPLF and the people of Tigray are one and the same. On another side the ruler of Asmara and the people of Asmara live on different planet. On what planet did this lady live ? It is really amazing.

Let's remember, HGDEF had jailed 100 times more patriots than one General Tefera Mamo. How is it Fano can bring change by working with HGDEF that's inflicting pain on Eritrea people - the same pain Fano is fighting to put a stop to? I just don't see how this works.

I agree it is Tigreans who should say TPLF and the people of Tigray are one and the same. I do not hear them saying. I hear the TPLF politicians and cadres saying it constantly though.

Anyway I hate it whether the people of Tigray or the Tigray politicians say it. It has this subtle message : that the people of Tigray are like a factory product. They all are the same. It just takes away the belief that people have brains of their own to think. There are qualifiers that are appropriate. For example, if one TPLF politician says the great majority of Tigreans support TPLF, it might not be exactly true, but it is an acceptable statement.
Also there is a misinterpretation about support. When the politics is framed us versus them, it is hard for Tigreans to say we are in them category.

And it is our job to enhance the freedom of our own state and people.
