The Somali people and Ethiopia should honour Abdi Mohammed Omar (Abdi Ilay), ex- president of Somali Regional State

Contrary to the government's propaganda, Abdi Ilay was liberal and progressive. He brought stability to Somali Regional State and registered economic development that led to the improvement of GDP in Ethiopia as a whole. He opened the University of Jijiga, which became one of the most popular academia in Africa.

Abdi Ilay is a Somali-Ethiopian patriot and should be celebrated as a hero in our history. Not Menelik, but the likes of Abdi Ilay will be the guys he will change Africa. Menelik was a camouflaged banda and traitor.

One of TPLF-EPRDF's greatest contribution is the creation and promotion of local patriots such as The Honourable Abdi Ilay. Leaders from Gumuz, Gambella etc were also genuine patriots because TPLF-EP{RDF empowered by allowing them to control their resources. They elect their own local leaders. They control their money. Their children learn in their mother tongue. No Amharic, No Tigrigna. On the contrary, The Galla or Oromo has abused the opportunity. Instead of standing for Equality, most Galla leaders stand against non-Galla Ethiopians.
